Karen started with Beau Monde Spalon as an evening receptionist, after mastering that position with excellent client communication, and organizational skills, she quickly became natural management material. Her meticulous professionalism & decision making abilities have made her extremely important to not only the staff, but also our loyal clientele. For the last 4 years as Salon Manager, Karen has become the pulse of the salon & continually amazes us with her abilities & commitment. What is you favorite city to visit, and why?
Asheville, North Carolina. The mountains are spectacular and when the leaves change, it’s even more beautiful.
What is your favorite food, and why?
I Love my Mama’s roast beef with rice and gravy. But bread is my ultimate weakness.
Who or what inspires you?
My Husband. He always looks at the big picture, not just the immediate issue at hand. He has taught me to do the same.
What type of music do you like? And why?
Country. Because of Kenny Chesney---Of course.
If you could drive any car in the world, what would you drive?
An Infiniti G37 would be GREAT!
What is your favorite vacation activity?
I’d like to say rest and relaxation. But that’s only a dream. Usually a vacation is about going a lot and doing as much as you can in a short amount of time. There is so much to see and do.
What is it about your service that makes you standout from other providers?
I believe in honesty and respect. If you treat people with honesty and respect, you will get that in return.
What was your inspiration to work in the beauty industry?
The person that used to be my hair stylist. The way she made me feel when I was at the salon and even after I left. I wanted to be a part of that. I want to make people feel good inside as well as outside.
What is your favorite thing to do in your industry, and what do you do to stay inspired by it?
Making people feel good about themselves. I hear that from a lot of our clients. Even a shampoo and blow dry can make their day better. That’s what makes me smile inside, to know that I can be part of that.
What is your favorite era of fashion and hair?
Big hair era. Everyone that knows me knows that I love volume. |
